How do I refurbish a cart?

1.       Cleaning;

a.       Use a high-pressure cleaner

b.       Remove all defective accessories

c.       Clean the roof with a ladder

d.       Clean the bottom of the cart with a forklift

e.       Do not use soap

2.       Frame;

a.       Check the frame for damages

b.       Check that the frame is straight

3.       Check for functioning;

a.       Connected to an external battery pack, which is charged

b.       Check whether the cart moves forward on the external battery pack

c.       Check whether the cart drives backwards on the external battery pack

                                                               i.      If the cart does not move forward or backward on the external battery pack, fix this first

4.       Tires;

a.       Check whether the Tires have enough tread on them. If necessary, replace them

b.       The type of tread on the tires must be the same on all four

c.       All tires must have a tire pressure of 1.6 bar

5.       Front suspension;

a.       Check for slack, If there is too much, correct it

b.       Check for cracks, if necessary, replace parts

c.       Check for straightness, if necessary, replace parts

d.       When a bearing is audible, replace bearing

e.       Universal joints, steering column and steering box lubricated with WD40, if that is not enough, replace parts

f.        Lubricate spindles with a grease pump

g.       Adjust the tracking when the cart is on the ground

6.       Lights;

a.       Make operational, replace if broken

b.       Check; Front lights, tail lights and turn signals

c.       Check the horn, if present

7.       Batteries;

a.       Filling up with deionized water, if necessary

b.       Check battery connections, replace cables if connections are poor

c.       Check battery mountings, replace if necessary, otherwise spray with zinc spray

d.       Check battery box, repair if necessary

8.       Controller;

a.       Reading the controller with a programmer

                                                               i.      Error codes are resolved

                                                             ii.      The settings are reset to the basic settings

1.       Setting 3 – Mph 14.8 – Anti tamper on 0

b.       Check connect

c.       Check plugs and fuse holders

d.       Check forward and reverse function

e.       Check all ignition lock functions

f.        Check all incoming and outgoing functions on the programmer's monitor. Also the richness of the pedal sensor. It should not fluctuate and should indicate 100%

9.       Rear suspension;

a.       Check the leaf springs on straightness and cracks

b.       Check the u-brackets and tighten the nuts

c.       Check leaf spring rubbers and bushes, replace if necessary

d.       Tighten shock absorbers, check for straightness, leakage and worn rubbers, replace if necessary

10.   Brakes;

a.       Check brake anchor plates for ease of use and wear

b.       Clean anchor plates with copper spray

c.       Check the u-brackets and tighten the nuts

d.       Check brake shoes. If less than 2mm, replace

e.       Check the brake cables, if the iron part of the flexible cable is visible or the inner cable is not accessible, replace the brake cable

f.        Check the parking brake. Repair or replace where necessary

11.   Rear axle;

a.       Check oil level and top up if necessary

                                                               i.      Fill the top fill plug until the oil runs out

b.       Check axle bearings and replace if necessary (noise or feel the bearing)

c.       Check the gearing of the shaft

12.   Electric Motor;

a.       If you hear noises, the engine must be unmounted.

                                                               i.      Check the brushes, if less than 20mm, replace

                                                             ii.      Check brush holder. Replace when damaged.

13.   Pedal box;

a.       Check pedal box for tightness and replace if damaged.

b.       Check parking brake, clean and lubricate

c.       Check wires and connections of the MCOR and repair if necessary

14.   Charger;

a.       Check if the battery charger is working

b.       Check that the wiring is secure

c.       Check that the meters are still working properly

d.       Check whether the battery charger is set to 220 volts

15.   Bodywork;

a.       Replace if broken

b.       Spray rusty parts

16.   Stickers/Signs;

a.       Stick a Carrus sticker on the window

b.       Mount a punch plate in the dashboard

c.       Check all safety decals on the cart. replace where necessary
